Exchange Students Scholarship Program was Launched by Guangxi University of Foreign Languages, Guangxi and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

 

On September 27th, Prof. Gilbert FONG, Dean of the School of Translation and Foreign Languages at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, and Prof. Bradley R. Barnes, Dean of School of Business, visited Guangxi University of Foreign Languages. Dr. Wei Qian, Chairlady of Guangxi University of Foreign Languages, and Professor Song Yafei, Vice President, attended the exchange event. The two sides discussed and reached a consensus on jointly launching projects such as the Undergraduate Student Exchange Scholarship. In addition, the Hong Kong Innovation Education Fund will fully sponsor (in the form of scholarships) outstanding graduates of Guangxi University of Foreign Languages to pursue a master's degree program at Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.

Prof. Gilbert FONG and Prof. Bradley R. Barnes visited Omnimedia Interactive Interdisciplinary Language Application Center accompanied by Dr. Wei Qian, and observed the cross border e-commerce live streaming activities in English which was presented by students. They communicated with student representatives on matters such as studying and exchanging in Hong Kong, undergraduate student exchange scholarship programs, etc

Dr. Wei Qian, welcomed the visits of Prof. Gilbert FONG and Prof. Bradley R. Barnes. Dr. Wei Qian stated that in November last year, GUFL and HSUHK officially signed a cooperation framework agreement, and the two sides will conduct in-depth exchanges and cooperation in talent cultivation, high-level academic education, and other aspects.

Prof. Gilbert FONG stated that Hang Seng University of Hong Kong was founded in 1980, with a superior geographical location and beautiful campus environment. It has formed educational characteristics such as interactive small class teaching, rich practical exchanges, abundant scholarship and assistance, and convenient employment in Hong Kong. The advantages of HSUHK lie in its autonomy, flexibility, and sensitivity. It is able to develop innovative courses based on social and market demands, with some courses being the pioneer in Hong Kong. The Bachelor's degree program in Business Translation (Honours) at the School of Translation and Foreign Languages was launched in September 2010. This program pioneered business translation education in Hong Kong and provides four years of in-depth learning in translation and interpretation.

 

Prof. Bradley R. Barnes introduced to his classmates that Hang Seng University of Hong Kong has established partnerships with over 60 overseas universities, providing students with diverse communication opportunities and experiences through communication with partner universities. The Business School is committed to providing students with the highest quality business education, and currently offers a total of 10 bachelor's degree programs. Welcome students from Guangxi Institute of Foreign Languages to Hang Seng University in Hong Kong for exchange and study.
