On March 1st, a delegation of Shanghai Office of Kumamoto, Japan visited GUFL. There were 4 people in this delegation: The chief representative of the office Fujimoto Nobuhiro and the interpreter Han Ying, the Director of Protocol Division of Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office,Lin Ying and the staff Liang Mingjie. Vice President Song Yafei, Vice President Wu Guiming, Vice Dean of School of South-East Asian Languages & Cultures Zhu Chunping, Vice Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges Zhang Yunzhi, Director of the Japanese Teaching&Research Section Lu Yan and Japanese teacher Wang Liqiu warmly welcomed the delegation.   


Accompanied by Vice President Wu Guiming, the guests visit the School Exhibition Hall, Integrated Practice Center for Languages Communications and Omnimedia Interactive Interdisciplinary Language Application Center. Vice President Wu Guiming introduced the school concept, faculty, special feature, international communication and other basic information to the delegation. The guests said our campus is a good environment for students to study. The delegation spoke highly of the wonderful campus cultures of our school.

After visiting, our school hosted a symposium with the delegation. Wang Liqiu, the Japanese teacher served as the interpreter. Vice President Song Yafei gave a brief introduction of our school’s Japanese major and showed our expectation of any kinds of friendly exchanges.

Fujimoto Nobuhiro, the chief representative of Shanghai Office of Kumamoto, Japan said that this is the 40th years’ anniversary of the friendly relations between Guangxi and Kumamoto. And he really hoped that they could have some commemorative activities with our students who are majored in Japanese or those interested in Japanese cultures.

 

Lin Ying, the Director of Protocol Division of Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office introduced that after establishing the friendly relations with Kumamoto, Guangxi have hold a lot of interchange activities among culture, sports and teaching. And Kumamoto are very active in each year’s China-Asean Exposition. Vice President Song Yafei said that GUFL were more than welcome to open up new chance for our students to exchange cultures and learn more about target languages.

 

At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged souvenirs and took photos. This meeting raised new opportunity for exchanging culture, and enhanced the friendly relationship between Guangxi and Kumamoto.
